StreamGuys SGplayer Changelog Release

Posted in Announcement, Changelogs, Products on May 09, 2018

For the first time since its release, StreamGuys is publishing an SGplayer version changelog publicly. Our player has grown immensely in the passed few years and we believe you deserve to see an overview of what's been going on in the background.

2.6.3 May 8th, 2018

2.6.0 January 19th, 2018

  • Inline layout now has support for metadata display and metadata override via player page URL params.

  • Fixed a duration display issue present in some player layouts.

  • Adjusted the display of HLS ABR quality picker.

  • Enhanced support of Google DFP integration. DFP integration now utilizes the same video player to play ads and primary content, instead of isolating the ad into its own player. This addresses autoplay restrictions where interacting with playing the ad was not sufficient in letting the subsequent primary content from autoplaying after the ad.

2.5.0 March 15, 2017

  • Addition of CacheFly ProtectServe support to allow for protected HLS and static file delivery of CacheFly objects via SGplayer.

  • Added new skin support for easier customization of SGplayer via the player config.

  • Added Nginx secure download module support for protected object serving via Nginx.

  • Added right-click context menu, enabled by default, to SGplayer that helps obscure a user's ability to inspect the player easily.

  • Added support for disabling metadata marquee/autoscroll.

  • Added support for nopreroll URL param to disable video prerolls when desired.

2.4.0 June 8th, 2016

  • Added support for html5 flashless HLS.

  • Added support for Targetspot ad integration.

Of course, many minor versions and patches have been made between each major version, but these are the highlights worth mentioning in this first changelog release.
